Of course it’s a confession. Sociopaths without the ability of simple empathy, can only understand what they would do in that situation. If that is what they would do, that is what others would do (no true though). If that is what others are doing, then it’s being done right now, therefore it’s justified when the sociopath does it.
If you find yourself going “WTF is wrong with that person”, you’re probably looking at a sociopath.
