I’ll go to the local discount grocer without self checkouts at busy times instead of my preferred grocer that recently installed self checkouts because they only have one attended checkout and a backed up self checkout with customers struggling to sort out their purchases. I just wont waste my time like that.
I refuse to use self-check outs. They take jobs away from people. My local Safeway recently changed from having one checker all night long. I walked in and filled a cart with food. When I made my way to the front- none of the lanes were open. Just one chick manning the 15 self-check-out zone. I asked her where the checker was, and she told me they now stop at 9pm, and that I had to do self-check. I said, “Have fun putting this shit away!” And I walked out of the store.
