    The tech is already flawed and security cameras haven’t been updated since the 90s. Cell phones should not have better cameras in them than security cameras if you want these cameras to actually be useful.

    Then on top of that, facial recognition chokes badly when processing on people of color, since during development, it was mostly trained on white faces.

    Couple it also that this guy had a record, so confirmation bias made the police think they had their guy. There was no actual investigation performed, which is customary for police.

    I hope he gets every penny, since they’re treating a “90 percent match” from grainy video as genuine, immutable proof.
