Lorraine Anderson’s been going to Shore Leave since 2005 and it was a pleasure to talk to her about her winning entry in Strange New Worlds 8 and her recent essay in Women Take The Conn, a book that I fully intend to get in my collection as soon as I can. During our conversation she recounts how she had a concussion when she was included in Strange New Worlds and was happily surprised to be included and honored.
We talk about our love of cats and how frustrated they get when you’re in a room with a closed door, then we spoke about her involvement in The Infinite Bard a IAMTW project that has fizzled out recently.
She’s been on dozens of panels at Shore Leave and we touch on how incredibly smart many of the panelists are and how much they know about Star Trek. This year she’s going to be on some pretty cool panels, like “Shifting, Swirling HERitage: Shiny New Anthology”, “When Does SF Become Fantasy?”, and “Cozy Fantasies”.
Lorraine can be found on her website, Blue Sky, Facebook, Twitter and if you want to check out her singing, she’s on Youtube as well!
