“Star Trek: Picard: Firewall” Review by Treknews.net

Treknews.net has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: Picard: Firewall”:

Seven of Nine, a heroine who has resurged in popularity thanks to Jeri Ryan’s return to the franchise in Star Trek: Picard, is now the subject of a much-deserved character spotlight from veteran Star Trek author David Mack. Mack’s bibliography includes the end of the Star Trek literary universe as we know it, the landmark Star Trek: Destiny trilogy, and dozens of other Star Trek publications. Considering Firewall’s author and its complex protagonist, fans should be happy to know Mack delivers a worthy tie-in to Picard, capably filling in Seven’s story between the end of Star Trek: Voyager and the beginning of Picard.

“Star Trek: Picard: The Art and Making of the Series” Review by Borg.com

Borg.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: Picard: The Art and Making of the Series”:

It was unlikely but it happened. Patrick Stewart returned to continue the exploits of one of the franchise’s most popular characters in Star Trek: Picard. Old Man Picard was a lot like Picard in his prime, getting killed and then brought back to life, defending the schemes of his nemeses Q and The Borg, and palling around with old friends Guinan, Riker, Troi, Worf, Geordi, and the umpteenth versions of Data and Soong relatives. The new look behind the scenes of the series, Star Trek: Picard–The Art and Making of the Series (available here at Amazon) explores each of the three seasons of the show.

“Star Trek: Vanguard: Harbinger” Review by Beforewegoblog.com

Beforewegoblog.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: Vanguard: Harbinger”:

Well, I’ve decided to pick up David Mack’s VANGUARD series after re-watching the first season of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. I enjoyed the handling of combining the TOS era with NuTrek advances as well as serialized storytelling. So, I was intrigued by the possibilities of a series seemingly based on combining the premise of DS9 (a long-range space station on the frontier of Federation Space) with the time period of the Original Series. So, how did it work? Remarkably well, actually, and Discovery could take a number of lessons from David Mack on how to write “dark” Trek.

“Star Trek: Defiant #13” Review by Trekcentral.net

Trekcentral.net has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: Defiant #13”:

Not all is as it seems on Starbase 99, where all hell is breaking loose in Star Trek: Defiant #13. The desolate base was infected with the bugs first seen in Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s “Conspiracy”. One of the USS Defiant’s captives, Benny the Much, appears to be the origin of this infection, but that still remains unknown. Some of the crew are injured, but together they must fight their way through the infected base. Danger lurks around every corner, and nobody knows exactly who they can trust.

“Star Trek: New Frontier: 12 Being Human” Review by Unitedfederationofcharles.blogspot.com

Unitedfederationofcharles.blogspot.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: New Frontier: 12 Being Human”:

I actually finished this one awhile ago and didn’t get around to writing the review. Indeed, I actually read this and the sequel back to back so it’s doubly problematic. Thankfully, though, that means I can do their reviews simultaneously. For those wondering what the long delay of about a year and four months was, it was due to my niece moving in. Which obviously disrupted a lot of my online time. However, I’m getting back to writing my Space Academy books so I might as well get these done since I’m definitely in a humorous space opera mood.

“Star Trek: New Frontier: Restoration” Review by Unitedfederationofcharles.blogspot.com

Unitedfederationofcharles.blogspot.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: New Frontier: Restoration”:

This is the Western installment of the New Frontier series and I mean that in the most direct TOS sort of way. There’s a big desert planet, an evil cattle baron, and Captain Calhoun comes down to become the new Sheriff in town. I actually love when Star Trek does this sort of stuff because as nonsensical and weird as it is, it is fully the kind of genre-bending I enjoy. It also doesn’t take place in a holodeck and I give props for that.

Beforewegoblog.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: Picard: Firewall”:

Star Trek: Picard is a controversial spin off in my circle as it draws out very strong emotions from its viewers. Some people love it, some people hate it, and some people’s feelings change between the seasons. On my end, I think the Picard show was of varying quality but came up with some of the best ideas the franchise ever had. Also, I think that it has consistently produced some of the best novels that Star Trek has ever produced. THE LAST BEST HOPE by Doctor Una McCormack and ROGUE ELEMENTS by John Jackson Miller are two of my all time favorite Star Trek novels ever. FIREWALL by David Mack is now up there as well.

Unitedfederationofcharles.blogspot.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: Picard: Firewall”:

Happy birthday to K.W. Jeter!

Kevin Wayne Jeter is an American science fiction and horror author from California.

Jeter was born in Los Angeles. At California State University, he met science fiction author Philip K. Dick. The esteemed science fiction writer based a character on him – Kevin in Valis. In common with Dick, his style of writing is known for its dark themes, and paranoid and sometimes unsympathetic characters. He has also written several sequels to Bladerunner, which began life as Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?.

His book Dr. Adder is considered by some to be the first true Cyberpunk novel. He also coined the phrase “Steampunk”, which refers to retro-technology.

Jeter has also written tie-ins to the Star Wars franchise.

He has lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, but now lives in Ecuador with his wife.

“Star Trek: Picard: Firewall” Review by Trekmovie.com

Trekmovie.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: Picard: Firewall”:

At the end of the Berman Era of Trek, Jeri Ryan’s Seven was last seen returning to Earth aboard the Starship Voyager, involved in a romantic relationship with Chakotay, and anticipating the possibility of joining Starfleet, alongside her mentor and mother-figure, Captain Kathryn Janeway. At the character’s next appearance, 20 years later in the first season of Star Trek: Picard, she is detached from Janeway and Chakotay, works for the mysterious Fenris Rangers, and is soon to develop a relationship with Raffaela “Raffi” Musiker. David Mack’s novel Star Trek: Picard: Firewall, is designed to fill part of that two-decade gap in Seven’s story with an adventure set at a key turning point for everyone’s favorite ex-Borg.

New Star Trek Comic Books Announced To Preorder! March 2024 Edition

Star Trek #21

Welcome to the Pleroma, a place outside time and space where god-level species have gathered to discuss the fate of the universe! It’s up to Captain Sisko and his valiant crew of the U.S.S. Theseus to persuade the gods to allow them to help repair Kahless’ unraveling of space-time-but will they listen to mere mortals responsible for their prophesied undoing?

Star Trek Annual 2024 #1

With no one but himself to blame for his brother’s sudden escape during the Klingon Day of Blood, Lieutenant Commander Data sheds his Starfleet uniform for an ensemble inspired by none other than Sherlock Holmes to track down Lore’s whereabouts… and figure out what sinister plans he’s been scheming. With the one and only Miles O’Brien as his Watson at his side, there is no mystery that Detective Data can’t solve!

Star Trek: Defiant #16

It’s now or never for the Defiant crew if they are to survive the parasitic infestation on the isolated Section 31 outpost Starbase 99. But with B’Elanna still connected to both Borg ally Hugh and the parasite hivemind, Nymira nowhere to be found, and a giant portal connecting their reality to a horde of hellish bugs just itching to burrow into each of their brain stems, things are looking dire at best. The third arc of the critically acclaimed series ends here!

Star Trek: Defiant HC #2

Still reeling from the battle on Qo’noS, Worf and the Defiant crew have been ordered to return to Starfleet headquarters. Despite their heroic actions, the Federation can’t celebrate the crew’s involvement in the fight against Kahless and the Red Path. In fact, they’re forced to discharge Worf and his crew! With the unspoken, unwritten agreement that they’ll operate with full Starfleet authority… completely off the books. Disavowed from Starfleet, Worf and his crew set out in their new roles as secret bounty hunters for the Federation. Their targets: untouchable criminals protected by treaties and alliances. They’ll take on villains from across Star Trek’s history such as an individualized ex-member of the Borg Collective, a time-traveling con man from The Next Generation, and an alien gangster from Sigma Iotia II. Collects issues #8-11 and the Defiant Annual.

Star Trek: Sons of Star Trek #4

The final chapter! What do you get when you cross three of the Federation’s most celebrated sons with a misguided god? An alternate reality full of lessons that may be just what the doctor ordered. But with Jake Sisko’s enrollment in the Pennington School, Alexander Rozhenko’s prison sentence, and Nog’s first Starfleet posting all fast approaching, they’ll have to move fast to defeat the Breen once and for all if they’re to convince Q Jr. to return them to their home reality.
