“Star Trek: Picard: Second Self” Review by Joshuaedelglass.com

Joshuaedelglass.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: Picard: Second Self”:

In general, I don’t like the world created by the Star Trek: Picard series (though I am happy to say I loved the soft reboot of Picard season three!), and I’m extra frustrated that the new continuity of the Picard show has destroyed the last two decades of continuity that had been developed in Simon & Schuster’s Star Trek novels.

“Star Trek: 74 The Fearful Summons” Review by Treklit.com

Treklit.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: 74 The Fearful Summons”:

I remember first reading this novel many years ago. I was a fairly new Star Trek fan, whose first Trek theatrical experience was watching Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country with my parents. I loved the film (even though I had a heck of a time properly pronouncing “Excelsior” while I gushed about all of the things I loved about the film to all who would listen). So when it was announced that a follow-up novel was coming out, written by one of the people credited with writing that wonderful sixth Trek film, I was ecstatic! While I don’t completely recall all of my thoughts upon reading it when it was first published, I do remember that it wasn’t exactly what I expected.

“Star Trek: The Next Generation: 10 A Rock And A Hard Place” Review by Shastrix.com

Shastrix.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: The Next Generation: 10 A Rock And A Hard Place”:

Some of the edges still feel a bit raw, with elements of characterisation feeling enhanced upon what’s in the TV show. But then it’s Peter David, who is one of the great authors of this era of Trek, and who has definitely earned the right to expand the canon. I really liked the dynamic he adds between Troi and Riker – definitely feels like it’s leading up towards his later Imzadi novels.

“Star Trek: A Singular Destiny” Review by Atboundarysedge.com

Atboundarysedge.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: A Singular Destiny”:

People often point to David Mack’s Destiny trilogy as the books that changed Star Trek. They have good reason to do so. Destiny was the series that folded together all of the storylines and characters, and most people would say it laid the foundations for what was to come next. I disagree slightly on that point. Destiny was an incredible trilogy, but it was more of an ending than a beginning. if the Litverse had ended then and there, there would have been broad agreement that it was a fitting end. It is Keith R. A. DeCandido’s A Singular Destiny (which, confusingly, bears the Destiny banner on the front page) that really put in motion everything that came next. This is, after all, the book that gives us the Typhon Pact.

“Star Trek: Picard: The Last Best Hope” Review by Treklit.com

Treklit.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: Picard: The Last Best Hope”:

Una McCormack has earned a reputation as a stellar, thoughtful, and compelling author within the Star Trek literary universe, and is one of my absolute favorite writers currently producing Trek fiction. So when it was announced that she would be penning the debut novel for the (at the time) new Star Trek: Picard series, I was thrilled. The author who has become known for her deftness at weaving together political stories, usually involving Cardassians, was going to handle some of the toughest political storytelling in the Star Trek mythos: the impending destruction of the Romulan Star Empire, Picard’s impossible mission to save the Romulan people, and the fallout of the mission and supernova on the United Federation of Planets. As a doctor of sociology, Dr. Una McCormack is singularly equipped to handle these stories!

Captain Sisko’s dangerous diplomatic mission with the Tzenkethi continues in this month’s Star Trek Issue #15! For peace to thrive, for the sake of the Alpha Quadrant’s continued existence, they must prevail. However, the Romulans are of course standing in the way of Sisko’s victory. “Star Trek: Lower Decks – Crew Handbook” Review by Trekmovie.com

Trekmovie.com has added a new review for ‘s “Star Trek: Lower Decks – Crew Handbook”:

In 1975, Franz Joseph’s Star Trek Star Fleet Technical Manual took the sorts of publications that Trek fans had long printed on their own to the glossy, professional, licensed fold. Taking the form of a future document mistakenly transmitted to Earth computers during the Star Trek: The Original Series episode, “Tomorrow is Yesterday,” the Technical Manual explored many areas of the Star Trek world that fans had long discussed, including charts, illustrations, and documents that fascinated and unpacked the Star Trek universe. The Star Trek Lower Decks U.S.S. Cerritos Crew Handbook stands in the tradition of the Star Fleet Technical Manual and other books of this style like Mr. Scott’s Guide to the Enterprise, the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual, but with a distinctly “Lower Decks” twist.
